'Soundscapes to die for'
SUZY KLEIN - BBC RADIO 3 ESSENTIAL CLASSICS
'An artist I just cannot stop listening to'
'Solo piano is best when its telling a story, and Ty's pieces are redolent of a place and time, almost filmic in the way they evolve, and full of beautiful, wistful longing. You'll see pictures as you listen, and that's a rare gift in music today'
'Jeffries’ skills on the piano are clear – as are his skills as a songwriter and musical performer...an absolute delight.’
IAN ROSENBLATT OBE (ROSENBLATT RECITALS)
'Debussy-esque...Always evocative, each track tells a story, beautifully expressed without words .Ty has created a sumptuous musical world that both sparks the imagination and settles the mind'
'Each compact piece on his album Dusk in the Luxembourg Gardens references and integrates a diversity of influences while springing some gentle – but sophisticated – surprises, whether melodic, harmonic or rhythmic. If an air of nostalgia hangs over the album, it is captivating for today’s listener.'
Composer, lyricist and entertainer Ty Jeffries started writing music since the age of just 5 on a piano left for safekeeping in the family potting shed. Although mainly self taught he went on to study music at The Purcell School in London. He is best known for his work in the world of cabaret and is the only not strictly classical musician to headline a (sold out) solo show at The Wigmore Hall.
